Lake Lowell
Deer Flat Reservoir was called Lake Lowell many years before it was made offcial. Mrs. J.H. Lowell explained that the reason the lake has not been offically named for her husband was that the Bureau had had a rule that places could not be named for living men.
Through the efforts of many Caldwell citizens and organizations, the lake became Lake Lowell offically on February 12, 1948.
The lake has seen it all: in winter there is ice fishing and ice skating, the summer brings water skiing, swimming, boat races, fishing at Gott's Point, and even some commerical fishing.
