Description
An image of Sarah Cox Levander when she was 18 years old. She arrived with the Cox wagon train when they stopped in Caldwell, ID to rest before going on to Oregon. When John Levander came to the wagon train, he and Sarah wed a few weeks later. Their wedding was the first one performed in Caldwell and Reverend B.J. Morrow presided over the event. Sarah's father, William Cox, took the remainder of the family and settled in Pilot Rock, Oregon. The newlywed Levander's stayed in Caldwell, but later moved 1 mile north of Rigby, Idaho and built the Goff House. Sarah and John stayed in that area until they died and are both buried on private property close to the house they lived in after they retired.
